Born To Love Animals
Kitty Love Pet Sitting is the creation of a life-long animal lover and Mom of three fur kids, ME! Love for animals runs deep in my family…I have had pets all of my life and proudly come from a family who are ‘suckers’ for stray animals. My parents still to this day are magnets for stray kitties at their house and they don’t have the heart to turn them away. It’s in my blood! But the world needs people like us, right?!
Life Before Pet Sitting
In the back of my mind I have always known I loved animals, but never could quite figure out the perfect formula for me to make a living around it (too squeamish for vet clinics!). So I did what every other person does, work at a job in which they have skills. I started working as an Administrative Assistant. I guess it goes hand in hand with the part of me that is nurturing and detail oriented in taking care of others’ needs. While I was very good at it, my soul was not fulfilled.
A Corporate Layoff Was a Blessing in Disguise
A layoff at a previous job turned out to be a true blessing in disguise because that turn of events introduced me to the world of professional pet sitting. I have worked as a professional pet sitter for the last five years prior to creating Kitty Love. I was known as the ‘cat whisperer’ at a previous company due to my soft and loving energy that draws out even the shy ones. ☺ It is a very gratifying experience when this happens.
Given a taste of doing something from the heart for a living, I knew I could never go back to the 8-5 corporate world…following a bigger calling – a calling of the heart. Spending time with pets is joy to my soul. I feel I have a unique connection with animals and they are one of the things I care about most in this world.
Knowing that I wanted to continue taking care of pets for a living, I wanted to create a new pet sitting service in the area and answer the calling to specialize in cats! Hence the name Kitty Love Pet Sitting!
Why We Do What We Do
I find great satisfaction building relationships with the kitties, watching them play, being there for them to cuddle on when their Mommy or Daddy is away, and especially the thrill of victory when a kitty who is labeled ‘never will come out to see you’ actually does come out to see me, play with me, and let me pet him/her!
